Why Monday Is for the Family?

I would say that a Monday evening for the family is the good opportunity for the whole family to communicate with everyone. The father, the mother, and the children would take their time to discuss matters pertaining to their well-being. And I would also say that this really helps a lot.

This particular Monday evening, we call it as the Family Home Evening (FHE) and this is not new. This has been introduced as a simple program for the family to strengthen its members in all aspect of their development from social, economic, educational, and spiritual. It won’t take a two or three hours. The father is the one presiding with the participation of every member who takes charge of the opening and closing prayer, leading the singing of the hymn, game playing, serving the snacks after the program.

The father gives the spiritual insights as supplemented by the wife in addressing the personal problems of the children from financial, educational, to love life. Before the program closes, everything is settled, agreed and in consensus. Everything is spiritually uplifted, inspired and full of God’s love and hopes to live as a family together forever.

Seminary & Institute of Religion: Teaching By the Spirit

"If you don't have the spirit, don't teach" reminds me of my Church calling before as a teacher of Sunday School. Now, I know how it is related to our latest convention of all teachers of Seminary and Institute of Religion of Mormon Church.

S&I Pre-School Convention
S&I Pre-School Convention
Jesus said, "the words that I speak... are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63, KJV)  This is the scripture that binds the teachers of Seminary and Institute classes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in their recent teachers' convention.

Those who have been called as teachers of LDS Seminary & Institute classes have met the standard qualifications as required by the Church. They have been informed of their respective duties and responsibilities as teachers in this short convention.

A Decade of Faithful Relationship of Edjie and Narlyn

A perfect relationship seems to be attainable for a man and a woman. In like manner, nobody is perfect. But in the process it could be realized as they both are doing their duties and responsibilities without counting the cost of all the sacrifices, the trials, the challenges that may come to their lives as what Jesus did to all mankind.

It has been said that marriage is ordained of God and God's perfect attributes are the guiding principles for the married couples as they exchange "I Dos" in time they get married. These spiritual virtues are not difficult to follow. And this is what the Bible says, "... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance..." (Galatians 5:22-23, KJV)

By line upon, precept upon precept, my wife and I tried our best to accomplish these things and so far we have reached our 45 years of faithful and happy marriage life comes April 21 for we're married in 1972.

Making Opportunity Works

YOU are the OPPORTUNITY. Right in your own very hand is your DESTINY. You may want what you want to be of yourself. YOU may make or unmake YOURSELF. It's your WILL, VOLITION to do it of what you desire.

finger-pointing
How to do it? You may consider the following suggestion of making OPPORTUNITY workable and effective by taking every corresponding LETTER of it, thus:

1. Obey what your mind or conscience dictates.
2. Prepare every needful thing.
3. Pay for whatever things you need or be ready to sacrifice.
4. Overhaul plans that failed.
5. Repeat your undertakings in a different way.
6. Try again in case you failed.
7. Undaunted, strong and firm attitude is utter importance.
8. Never hesitate to ask for help. You’re not perfect.
9. Improve yourself by learning new skills. Best things are yet to be discovered
10. Time-consciousness narrows down your vision to realization.
11. Yield to the promptings of the Spirit or pray unceasingly. It’s God who provides everything.

They are simple. Aren't they? Contemplate on them.
