What To Do When Life Becomes 'Dark and Dreary'?

[Disclaimer: This is more on the spiritual point of view. We may differ from our faith, belief and religion. Just let's respect each other. There's nothing to argue about. Just take this as an additional information of what you have had right now.]

You and I have the priorities in like like the mission, vision or ambition so to speak. These things may include family, love life, studies, business, among others.

There are times that we are indecisive of being confused and couldn’t make an appropriate decision on what to do, This is brought about by our life’s conflict. Is there a way for getting out of this mess in our life?

While I was sitting in the pews with my family, listening to our Church leader speaking before us in our Sacrament meeting, I heard him quoting a verse from the Bible (King James Version), telling us what we should do to relieve us from our challenges or trials of any form of our life.

How the Scriptures Strengthen My Life

You may believe this or not. This is my personal testimony about the scriptures.

Every first Sunday of the month, we have the privilege to bear our personal testimony as member of the Church before the congregation on the truthfulness of the Gospel, the Divinity of Jesus Christ, the standards works of the Church (the scriptures), and on the faith-promoting experiences.

How the scriptures have strengthened me out of my 38 years membership of the Church and  how I have been helped,  I shared it based on the SCRIPTURES acronym in this first Sunday of the month of September 2018.

Why Monday Is for the Family?

I would say that a Monday evening for the family is the good opportunity for the whole family to communicate with everyone. The father, the mother, and the children would take their time to discuss matters pertaining to their well-being. And I would also say that this really helps a lot.

This particular Monday evening, we call it as the Family Home Evening (FHE) and this is not new. This has been introduced as a simple program for the family to strengthen its members in all aspect of their development from social, economic, educational, and spiritual. It won’t take a two or three hours. The father is the one presiding with the participation of every member who takes charge of the opening and closing prayer, leading the singing of the hymn, game playing, serving the snacks after the program.

The father gives the spiritual insights as supplemented by the wife in addressing the personal problems of the children from financial, educational, to love life. Before the program closes, everything is settled, agreed and in consensus. Everything is spiritually uplifted, inspired and full of God’s love and hopes to live as a family together forever.

Elder R. Nobleza
Elder Ramon Nobleza of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this morning addressed the 470 saints of La Carlota Philippines District in their semi-annual Church conference at La Carlota City, Philippines.

"Learn the scriptures to verify the truthfulness of the words of the Lord," Elder Nobleza opened up.

In their recent meeting with the members of the Philippines Area Presidency in Manila, he informed that the Brethren have noticed that Filipinos are not voracious readers, but rather prefer to listen to moral stories and teaching.
