After Retiring, Then What?

This is the ordinary question that keeps on haunting me while waiting for 100 days to retire from the government service. By October 2016, I would be completing my 25 years in the Department of Education as a classroom teacher, a head teacher, and a school principal.

I would be missing my previous teachers, my co-administrators and especially my 7 schools which 6 out of these schools, I had administered and supervised the teachers and had a communication with the stakeholders particularly the parents and the community elected officials who had worked for hand in hand with me for the good of the school and for the academic welfare of the pupils.

Family Week: Strong Family, Progressive Tomorrow

"Matatag na Pamilya Maunlad na Bukas" (Strong Family: Tomorrow's Progress) is 2016 theme. The Family Week Celebration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is participated in by various units/branches in the district. Aas one of the pioneer members of the Church in our place, we have something to present to prove that family is important.

My wife and I are happy indeed to reach our 44 years of married life. I remember that it was in 1972 when we got married at the age of 21. I never had a penny in my pocket in that momentous day of our marriage. It was the late City Judge Mate who officiated our marriage in his office at the second floor of the city hall.

Doing something our of nothing, what would it be? This is a challenge by Mayor Bambi Villarosa, as the discussant/facilitator in the 3-day workshop on school governance to the school principals of the division of La Carlota City.

With their collaborative efforts, they molded a colored clay given to them into a meaningful creation to depict the importance of a family in the Department of Education (DepEd).

The group is composed of SDS Portia M. Mallorca, ASDS Gladys Amylaine D. Sales, Carole C. Abalajon of Cainaman ES, Tracy Hiceta of Haguimit ES II, Perpetua Morales of Ferlou ES, Leny Nillos of La Carlota South ES II, and this blogger of Balabag ES.

Simple Steps in Adding Personnel in LIS Education Site

Teachers all over the country particularly in the Department of Education of the PH are doing overtime in enrolling their pupils for this school year 2013-2014 to online registration provided by Learners Information System website.

As an innovation introduced by DepEd, teachers have found some basic problems in encoding their respective school enrollment data. One of them is assigning an adviser to a section of a particular grade. The school head as the admin for this site has the authority to do this function.

To update Personnel Record in Learners Information System (LIS) in which he or she could be connected to a certain class section as adviser, he has to log in the site of LIS (www.lis.deped.gov.ph) using the password used in ebeis or given to him by their ICT personnel or Division Planning Officer.
