Is Happiness Elusive?

Why others are happy and why are you not? Why do want to be happy? And how to get it? Do you know that our purpose of living here on earth is to find happiness? The happiness that never ends – eternal happiness. Is it possible? How?

I have come across a phrase that says “man search for happiness”. I have contemplated various factors which could make a man happy. What really comes to my mind is the temporal means of acquiring happiness. For example, if a man wins a million in a lottery, do you think he wouldn’t be happy? A man marries his dream girl, could he wouldn’t be happy?

A temporal for that kind of happiness is ephemeral. It is short lived. It won’t last forever. It won’t be eternal. The happiness should a man have is an eternal one. And how is it possible?

Let’s negate the fact that most of us believe in the Supreme Being, in God. God has laid down His plan of salvation for everyone to gain or have an eternal happiness by aiming for an eternal life.

4 Things To Do To Get Perfect Happiness

As far as I know God has created the first man and woman and put them on this earth to take care of all His creation. And one of the commandments God has given them is "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth" under God's will to give everyone the spiritual happiness and to earn the highest exaltation in life and enjoy the eternal life.

On their course of living, the man and the woman in spite of their sins they have committed before the eyes of God, have been given the grace for their sins to be forgiven and it was done by God's Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ by offering His life for those sinners. In so doing, the sinners would have the big opportunity to improve themselves and forsake all their sinful ways and be forgiven, and be entitled for the gift of eternal life.

Personally, I may relate this man's search for happiness in the guise of the greatest virtue which God Himself has exemplified for the salvation of His people. And that is the so-called LOVE.

Bulaklak's Birthday Wish

Bulaklak 9th birthday
Bulaklak, the birthday girl
The whole member of our family shared a common happiness we have had today. My wife and I early this morning spent a precious time with one of our most beloved granddaughters, Bulaklak who turned 9 years old today.

Shanley Jane Camporazo Jaud, fondly called as Bulaklak was a chubby little cute girl. She is a third grader pupil. She is a very smart girl.

Birthday Wish

After I ate my breakfast, she showed me a piece of paper with her birthday wish which she had written it last night in a grade 3 pad. It was scribbled in our local dialect, Ilonggo.

Here's the text which I translated in English:

"Birthday wish of Shanley:

1. May Jesus Christ bless me and my family.
2. May my mama and papa be in good health, my family as well.
3. May my cousins be blessed too.

And I am thankful to Jesus Christ who has helped us by saving us from sins. I am also thankful to those who have cared for me when I was sick and because of them I recovered speedily. I do love them and I do love my family. Love, Shanley"

Birthday Cake
To her cousins, she was referring to Toto Bryan and Adja.

Her mother, our 4th eldest daughter is preparing something for Bulaklak's birthday as a simple, but memorable celebration.

Birthday Cake

Her papa just sent her a ready-made cake for he was too busy working with the 4th District Congressman of Negros Occidental in their campaign sortie. Her papa was driving a service vehicle.

She celebrated her birthday with her cousins, uncle and aunties, and members of her family.

Birthday Prayer

I offered the prayer for Bulaklak's birthday. This is what I said: "Lord, we are indeed very happy today to join with our granddaughter's birthday today. We all know how her parents really love her and we all know how they work so hard to rear her up according to the nurture and admonition of Lord. Bless, Bulaklak of the wisdom which she could guide her in attaining her ambition and happiness in life.

Lead her to the path of righteousness as she stay close to the Church, as she strives to be obedient to her parents, as she never fails to read the scriptures for her spiritual growth, and as she humbles herself.

It is our faith and also it is the faith of her parents that Bulaklak may be free from any harm, that she may overcome any form of trials in her life, that she may have the good health and that she may endure to the end.

As the eldest sister of her other two sisters, Bulaklak may set the good example for them as a true and faithful member of the Church. All these things I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen"

After I prayed, she came over to me and gave me a big hug. Happy 9th Birthday, Inday Bulaklak!

Finding Joy in Life

Everything is good to promote happiness of the human family. Spiritually speaking, man exists and lives here on earth to search for his happiness. God has provided him everything. As free agent, he has everything to do as he wishes. but he has to bear the consequences of his wrong choices. And he has to enjoy the happiness of his good wisdom.

Artist Concept on Creation
The Creation
He has to enjoy life. God provides everything like grains, fruits, herbs, flowers, streams, fountain and river for man to partake her joyousness, beauty, and innocence, and to worship God.

He has to enjoy in social activity like dancing and amusements like theaters. His object is to get and cleave to everything that is good and to reject everything that is bad.

'Heart Will Swell - All Is Well'

LDS Hymn Book
Merry making with the little children, some of our relatives and neighbors ushered the coming of the new year 2012. Our second eldest daughter, Genevieve Aura started this annual activities for the kids for 8 years now. All these children were fed by the foods prepared by her. Some were given candies, prizes for the games and gifts like toys, dolls, match boxes cars, among others. In like manner, everybody in the house was also busy. We still managed to sleep for a few hours and then we woke up past 8:00 in the following morning and hurriedly prepared for our Sunday services.

Come, come ye Saints, no toil nor labor fear; But with joy wend your way

These were the first line in our Church hymn for our opening song to begin our Sacrament meeting this Sunday. We're happy and full of joy as we jointly sang with the rest of the members of the Church. We contemplated on our spiritual duty to our fellowmen as we serve our God and be nourished with His words, not only from the scriptures, but also from the teachings and messages of our leaders in a general conferences.

Happy Weekend With My Family

My happy family members posing for a posterity after our Family Week CelebrationMy family and I had a wonderful experience Saturday as we joined the Church activities to culminate the Family Week Celebration.

We enjoyed the 45-minute foot parade around the main thoroughfares of La Carlota. The band of selected pupils of La Carlota South Elementary School I led the parade.

Rebing, my wife was all smile as I took her picture while strutting along San Agustin Street just a stone-throw away from the meetinghouse.

Rebing and me lying on the ground of our Church after the program of Family Week celebration.A moment right after the morning session, I playfully laid on the well-trimmed Carabao grass lawn of the meetinghouse to wait the members of my family outside. I was surprised when my wife joined with me and laid on my lap. I was happy and elated. Then followed my youngest son, Gilbor Junior who laid on his mom's side. My youngest daughter, Geeree took her turn too after her brother.

Three of Us - Gigi, Rebing and me on the ground of the Church.
Gingging, Bryan, my grandson arrived then we took lunch outside together with my son-in-law, Almon, his talented 8-year-old daughter, Adgel to a humble restaurant. As every member of my family ordering their fave foods, I remember those good old days with my late parents. The happy moments as we ate outside our home. Kasadya gid! Kanami Gid! [It's enjoyable. It's satisfying!]

Camporazo's family at public plaza
At the end of the afternoon activities, we posed for a posterity at the Family Week backdrop. Then we had a snack in one of the fastfood kiosk inside the agora market, 500 meters from the meetinghouse. My eldest daughter who was fetched by her hubby Almon with their tryke, joined with us this time.

We're done but time was still early. Then we proceeded to the plaza to pose for a souvenir picture there.

Our day is complete. What a happy and blissful occasion indeed! Family is really important. And I know my family could be together forever. What a blissful, wonderful expectation!
