On TDA T-Shirt Controversy

TDA T-Shirt
TDA T-Shirt
Just a matter of concern on the sale of TAGA-DEPED AKO t-shirt for I am one of the concerned members of TDA group in the Facebook, I posted a query and a request for the status of those who have already availed of and then suggested if it could be posted for others to know as a matter of transparency (with no malice at all.) Unfavorable comments, reactions kept on pouring which I had never expected at all of such negative situation.

What really should come to mind is just an explanation, a clarification or whatever in an ethical way. I had no knowledge before hand that there was already one concerned member who had raised this similar query I had had.

What bothered me more was my position as a school principal had been mentioned. belittled. They questioned my authority, my intrusion of such business which called for the personal decision of every teacher to buy the t-shirt or not. It was no longer my business so to speak according to the commentors.

Should a teacher react that way?

Anyway here's the screenshot of my concern (screenshot) which reads:

More than a hundred comments manifested by impulsive members. Sad to note, most of the reactions were negative.

Was there something wrong with my query? I didn't have any malice or malicious intention of my question. I just posted it since TDA is used for such promotion of procuring that t-shirt. In fact, it was being advertised there. Follows is the screenshot of it:

What Is TDA?

Taga-DepEd Ako (I am from the DepEd) is a secret group created in the Facebook. The members are only employees of the Department of Education. This is avenue for sharing, discussion of things related to their profession. No more no less! What else can I say?

TDA has a present membership of 47,145. The admins as you could find on their membership page are as follows Glen Loreno of STI College, Legazpi; Topet Duro of Guinayan National High School; Hyuuga Hinata of Guinayan, Quezon; Felicito Boneo of Guinayan, Quezon; and Ymmanuelle Eda Fabale Ponsaran, Teacher III at DepEd.

House Rules

TAGA-DEPED AKO HOUSE RULES (excerpt from its page):

"This page is intended ONLY for Employees (Teachers, Principals and Non Teaching personnel) of the Department of Education.

"Everyone is encouraged to actively participate in discussions to matters related to our profession.

"Content sharing and downloading are allotwed [sic] but please don't forget to acknowledge the rightful owners."

I notice that these rules aren't observed. In other words, the admins had no time to filter or regulate those posts which they've not abide with the said rules. Thus, conflict of interest has inevitably surfaced.

Are They Teachers?

Take a good look of some selected comments or reactions on why they reacted that way on what I'd written and posted at TDA page on the screenshots below:

Eljay Payopay is promoting, advertising the said t-shirt to TDA page. EP is not a teacher. Since this is his business, he clarified this matter in the following screenshot:

  4. Yung group po na iyan sir (TDA) dati very informative but lately, puro kababawan na lng ang mababasa,,mga guro-guruan na gandang ganda or poging pogi sa sarili, kabaklaan (sorry for the word), mga non sense post ultimo ulam sa ref ipopost/itatanong, pagalingan/payabangan kahit di related sa topic isisingit ang kayabangan (self serving), instead na related sa education ganun na ang nangyayari, and the admins instead of moderating, kasama pa sila kadalasan sa bangayan(not doing something also para maayos ang page)....plannng to leave that group soon...

Salamat!
