Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School (DHSBNHS) formerly La Carlota City High School, my Alma Mater is showered by the blessings beyond expectation from the able-bodied school principal, Dr. Leo Sichon. He is so thankful to the Lord for these blessings in 2016.

"Grabe ang blessings ni Lord," said Sir Leo in his Facebook, "2016 is a blessed and a good year for dhsbnhs. thank you Lord God for all of these honors and accolades . thank you people for always trusting, believing and inspiring us...love you all!!!"
Schools Division Superintendent Portia M. Mallorca manifested her congratulations to Sir Leo for the various major awards and recognition which DHSBNHS harvested in 2016 in one or two of her Facebook greetings to Sir Leo's timeline.

Sir Sichon couldn't believe the series of recognition of his school received. These may include the following:
A. Recent NIR Press Conference: Regional Champion in News Writing won by Mary Lee Salazar and 7th Place Editorial Writing by John Rey Reyes, coach Mrs. Pethy Decendario.
B. NIR IV Youth Summit 2016: Search for Ms. NH4 Ambassadress, Jerelyn Poblete, coach Johnny Jaudines, asst coach Stephen de la China and ramp and beauty consultant, "Dyoosaah" Sichon; First Place,Project Proposal Writing contest the students of Mam Ma Laarni Karen Calacat, First Runner-up Talumpati Contest by RJ Montero, and Championship in Dance Competition.
C. Division Athletic Meet: Over-all Champion
D. Division Press Conference: Over-all champion in English and in Filipino
E. GSP Awarding: 6 Chief Medalists and Troop Leaders award
F. Junior High School 2016 Provincial Statistics Quiz Winner
G. First NIR Senior High School Statistics: Champion and First Runner-up, coach Mr. Ryan Capangyarihan
H. Brigada Eskwela: Plaque of Appreciation
I am also very proud of these numerous achievements which these students garnered for the high school. I am one of the alumni in La Carlota City High School before. Now it is renamed to DHSBNHS by by virtue of Batas Pambansa Blg. 545, which was approved on June 6, 1983.
