Our school, Cubay Elementary School, is one of those recipients of Text2Teach Program of Ayala Foundation, Inc. and four selected grade 5 and 6 teachers have undergone the 3-day training for the first batch.
On the third, every school head has to come up with a school action plan to effectively implement Text2Teach technology to grades 5 and 6 pupils.
My four teachers, Mrs. Jema B. Esparagoza, English; Ms. Gemma D. Salazar, Science; Mr. Edgardo S. Amar, Math; and Mr. Mario A. Malacaman, Values Education, who joined the training huddled together and we discussed the practical areas of concern to deliver the services needed for our pupils.
We have decided to limit them into 6 categories and I reported them before my fellow, school heads in attendance.
Cubay Elem. School Text2Teach implementors huddled and discussed the school plan for Text2Teach sustainability program. As a result, the school principal, Gil Camporazo shared their school plan in dialect... the plan has covered 6 areas. He did share in a query form:
1. why are we here?
2. What we got something useful?
3. What should we do it?
4. When are we going to do it?
5. what are we to show or to report?
6. Are we in a right track after implementing this?
Technically, these things are referred to orientation, organization, implementation, supervision, documentation, and interacting (feedbacking).
It is no game playing. Cubay Elem. School principal, Gil Camporazo and Ms. Rona Sayosa of La Carlota South Elem. School I were to curious and excited to use the Nokia cell phone in opening the Nokia Data Gathering (NDG) feature in entering some data of their respective schools. They're applying what they learned from the lecture of Ms. Melissa Yamson, one of the Text2Teach resource speakers.
Before, we proceeded for a closing ceremony, Ayala Dino Rey Abellanosa, operation officer for visayas region took time to expound comprehensively the involvement of the community for the success of this program. He stressed this part as sustainability.
The success lies on the hands of every implementing team and support of the community like the barangay captain and PTA presidents.
In a simple closing rites, every teacher-trainees received their certificate of participation after they have been challenged and accepted the said challenge to effectively implement the project without reservation.
The turning-over of the teaching modules, the mobile phones, and the 32-inch monitor TV set concluded this informative, interactive and educative training. Mr. Abellanosa of Ayala and Mr. Avelino Santillan, EPS assigned in Text2Teach program did the ceremonial turning over.
