How La Carlota People Expressed Themselves

In a just concluded midyear election of national and local positions in the government, the people of La Carlota or the Mangkasanon have manifested whom they really loved as far as public service is concerned.

Majority of the registered voters of La Carlota and Valladolid gave their full confidence to reelectionist congressman, Jeffrey P. Ferrer of  United Negros Alliance (UNEGA) for his good governance under the 4th district of, Negros Occidental. In Bago, Ferrer got a comfortable vote of 52%. In the municipalities of Pontevedra and San Enrique, he got 59.86% and 62.32% votes respectively. While in Pulupandan, he got only19.69% votes against his rival.

Anyway, the over-all confidence of the people of 4th district in Negros Occidental has reached to 78.89% in the results of Commission on Elections website, against his major political rival, Atty. Ike Barredo (Independent) who got only 20.89% votes.

Election officer, Atty. Ma. Fatima M. Aspan proclaimed Atty. Juliet Marie P. Ferrer (UNEGA) as mayor and Jacky Jalandoni (UNEGA) as vice mayor and the ten members of Sangguniang Panlungsod, who are as follows: reelectionist Karen Aguirre (UNEGA), reelectionist Rex Jalandoon (Liberal), Amalia Aguirre (UNEGA), Zaldy Pernito (UNEGA), Jose Luis Jalandoni (Independent),  reelectionist Jacob Liansing (UNEGA), Jun Jun Badillo (NPC), reelectionist Manuel Badillo (UNEGA), reelectionist Jaime Manuel Mariño (Liberal), and David Baga, Jr (UNEGA).

Those who didn't make it were reelectionist Annabelle Bermudo (UNEGA), Tanoy Oplas (NPC/UNEGA), Lidoy Miravalles (UNEGA), Gary Glen Aries (Liberal), reelectionist Ruel Alvañez  (UNEGA), Henry Amar (Independent), Zaldy Magan (Independent), Ninoy Fernandez (Independent), Gregorio Lanaria (Independent), Arturo Bereña (Independent), and Rosa Abaygar (Independent).

Humble Way of Expressing Gratefulness

Salamat Congressman Ferrer and Mayor Juliet Ferrer expressed the people of La Carlota on the good governance this couple have proven themselves and the people have reciprocated them in the recent election. More power to both of you and the rest of the members of the city council.

Election-Related Problems

Common problems that affected the electoral process in La Carlota City were unprecedented malfunction of the PCOS machines like ballot jam and very weak signal in time of transmission of election proceedings data to three servers like the MBOC, central server and the KBP party system. Registered voter's names couldn't be found in the masterlist.

Due to very poor signal in some areas of La Carlota City made the delayed of the final transmittal of the final and official election results in the said city. Late in the afternoon, the board of election canvassers of La Carlota was able to complete their work and was able to transmit the consolidated election results and the winners were immediately proclaimed officially.
