The police men in Trenton, Agusan del Sur were trapped and surrounded by the rebels. They were fighting for their lives. They were able to defend their station because of their woman chief who was courageous and maintained her presence of mind for that threatening situations at hand.
Galvez, a former classroom teacher, assumed the Trento Police Station chief last April, barely 3 months. It was a baptism of fire for Galvez since she held the position of chief of police since 2008 as an officer.
She was not afraid to defend her station from aggressors, but she was scared to leave her daughter. Thus she must do everything to spare her life for her 2-year old daughter.
