Two Honest Filipina Street Cleaners Recognized

street cleaners
Honest people are still abounding around us. They're doing good, even though no one is watching them.

Recently two Filipina, Marilyn Campos, 39, a single mother, and Analyn Aquino, 26, were rewarded by city Mayor Lani Cayetano of Taguig for their honesty. Each received a cash gifts of P10,000.

While doing their day-to-day chores as a street cleaners, they accidentally found the P95,000 cash in a trash can inside the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) compound in Bicutan, Taguig City, last week, the news said.

As a poor earner, they should have kept the money for themselves. But they didn't have a second thought. Instead, they returned the money to its rightful owner, Engineer Dante Pedrizo, a resident of Samaba K9, Lower Bicutan, last July 12.

For such unconditional disposition of honesty of the two women, Mayor Cayetano was impressed for they "never crossed their minds to keep the money for themselves." Therefore in return, their honesty should be reciprocated. And besides their acts give credence and momentum to Mayor Cayetano's anti-corruption campaign and moral recovery program. As an additional incentive, the mayor gave them new jobs and an increase  for their take-home pay.

Mayor Cayetano is right when she said: "Do good in every opportunity when no one is looking".  And this should lead us in our way of life. We could be honest in any ways, even others are not.

I always remind myself that there are STILL good people in this world despite of rampant cruelty, greed and selfishness these days. I admire them for their honesty. They already have that 95,000 inside their bank accounts in heaven.

  19. Keeping a simple checklist in your jewelry box can act as a reminder. All fine jewelry that is worn regularly and is mounted with gemstones should be brought to a jeweler to be inspected for wear on prongs and closures on a routine basis https://www.jewelsclean.com/

  22. The Oreck XL upright vacuum cleaner is one of the lightest on the market, weighing in at only 8lbs! However, the Oreck doesn't come with attachments, and you have to wind on the cord by hand. The main advantage of upright vacuum cleaners is suction power. The motor is nearer the vacuum head than a cylinder.learn more
