Tribu RSB Does It Again!

Tribu RSB (Roberto Salas Benedicto) defended its title as the Best Performing Group of last year street dancing competition for this 2011 competition again. Tribu DOS came next as the first runner up. Then followed by Tribu TRES as the second runner up.






In rhythm competition, Tribu DOS was the champion. First runner up, Tribu RSB. Second runner up, Tribu UNO (Nonoy Jalandoni).

The week-long Pasalamat Festival of La Carlota with the theme: "Thanksgiving for Unity, Peace and Prosperity." was concluded yesterday with a fireworks display at the festival park.

La Carloteños had all the reasons to be thankful to God. Their lady mayor, Atty. Juliet D. Ferrer, wife of 4th District Representative Jeffery Ferrer enumerated her accomplishments out of her 10-month stint as the mayor of La Carlota at the opening rites of the festival, Monday, 25. Her accomplishments may include the following the completion and renovation of the city hall, the improvement of public plaza, the construction of city veterinary office, the construction of covered court in elementary school, renovation of barangay health center, among others. While her administration accomplishments, she said, will be announced in her next state of the city address at the city council.

La Carlota Pasalamat Festival was pioneered and introduced 32 years ago by the late former mayor Luis Jalandoni, Jr. to celebrate this festivity as a thanksgiving and a tribute to God for the bountiful harvest of the Mangkasanon.

Popular local movie stars like Tirso Cruz III, Christopher De Leon, Ian Veneracion, Bayani Agbayani, among others played an exhibition basketball game with the basketball players of La Carlota. The La Carloteños enjoyed seeing their favorite actors playing the game.

The Search for Pasalamat Festival Queen 2011 held Saturday evening was hosted by local movie personalities like Albert Martinez, Maricar Reyes and Derek Ramsey. Twenty-two young ladies vied for the said search. Ms. Alajar Sabanal of Brgy. Cubay was the 2011 Festival Queen. Ms. Reina Amor Gomez, representing the 4th Engineering District was adjudged as first runner up and Ms. Ruth Angely Tan, representing LSM Commercial was second runner up. Ms. Sabanal also made it in the swimsuit and evening gown competitions. While Ms. Khia Marie Gicaro, representing Brgy. Haguimit got title as the best in Talent.

After the Street dancing and grand arena dance competitions in the afternoon of Sunday, May 1, the most awaited awarding ceremonies culminated this week-long merrymaking and thanksgiving festival of La Carloteños.
