Why he has the courage to tell the world about this "end of the word"! Camping believes that the Bible alone and in its entirety is the Word of God, and absolutely trustworthy. He uses Bible-based numerology to predict dates for the end of the world. He foretells that today a rapture will occur and God will subsequently [and] completely destroy the earth and five months later on October 21, the universe will fall apart.
As a Christian radio broadcaster in Family Radio, a California-based religious broadcasting network with more than 150 outlets in the United States also in internet, he proclaims his "sure" prediction of the "end of the word" based from the Bible.
In 1958, he had joined with other individuals of Christian Reformed, Bible Baptist and Conservative Christian Presbyterian to broadcast traditional Christian Gospel to the conservative Protestant community and minister to the general public.
He is a Civil Engineer before he became an evangelist. In 1988, he served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher at the Alameda Bible Fellowship. His parents were members of the Christian Reformed Church.
In 1961, he handles Open Forum program, a live weeknight call-in program in Family Radio. Camping answers listeners' questions about the meaning of certain passages from the Bible by interpreting them based on Biblical passages.
Camping teaches that a Biblical calendar has been hidden according to Daniel 12:9, Revelation 22:10 detailing the imminent end of the world. In his latest publications, he states that May 21, 2011 will be "the first day of the Day of Judgment" and October 21, 2011 will be the end of the world. Critics call Camping a "date-setter" following his own method of Biblical interpretation. Camping maintains that he follows the Bible's method of Biblical interpretation.
Earlier he claimed there was a very high likelihood that the world would end in September, 1994, although he did acknowledge in the book "the possibility does exist that I could be wrong." He makes no mention of this failure when establishing his new claims of the end of the world in October, 2011.
Camping's teaching is the belief that the Bible alone and in its entirety is the Word of God, and absolutely trustworthy. Each sentence in the Bible, he stresses, is not to be understood only literally. Rather, the meaning of individual Biblical passages also needs to be interpreted as the context of the Bible as a whole and as its spiritual meaning.
Critics claim that Harold Camping is a false prophet for what he has predicted were all false such as: the Lord's return would be in 1994! now the Lord's return will be on May 21, 2011!, the world will end in fiery destruction on October 21, 2011!, Harold Camping (Family Radio) has aired Mormon advertisements! He taught that NO ONE was saved between 1988 through 1994! Harold Camping teaches that the church age ended in 1994! Harold Camping teaches that the Holy Spirit is NO LONGER working in the church! Harold Camping teaches that EVERY church in the world is apostate!
Fear not whatever matters as long as you're spiritually prepared.

Bottom line: Death will come like a thief in the night, so it's best to be prepared ALL the time.
Geez, I should start preparing, too.
Only God knows when is the end of the world. No man could ever predict the exact time. We just have to be prepared for it will surely comes!
