Institute of Religion: Anchor to Gospel of Jesus Christ

In the recent Seminary and Institute of Religion devotional, Brother Sonny Deyro, Bacolod South Seminary and Institute coordinator of The  Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stressed in his message to the students, teachers, parents and Church leaders the importance of scriptures and the intelligence gained from such study.

He said that the records of attendance in Seminary and Institute are recorded as a part of everyone's Book of Life. The "transcript" of every student is "kept" forever. Thus, he urged that the classes should be well attended for the knowledge they learned is for their advantage.

He illustrated this by citing Doctrine and Covenants 130:18 - 19:

"Whatever principle of a intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. And if a person gains more a knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the c advantage in the world to come."

How the Scriptures Strengthen My Life

You may believe this or not. This is my personal testimony about the scriptures.

Every first Sunday of the month, we have the privilege to bear our personal testimony as member of the Church before the congregation on the truthfulness of the Gospel, the Divinity of Jesus Christ, the standards works of the Church (the scriptures), and on the faith-promoting experiences.

How the scriptures have strengthened me out of my 38 years membership of the Church and  how I have been helped,  I shared it based on the SCRIPTURES acronym in this first Sunday of the month of September 2018.

How to Make Marriage Last Forever

(This is a repost of my article posted in Literacy Base site entitled "Making Marriage Last Forever" written on November 27, 2016.)

When we first exchanged our “I Dos” 44 years ago (1972), we kept in mind that our marriage would last till death. The officiating city judge told us that our vow was binding “till death do we part”. That’s it. We were 21 years old at that time and we were still studying in college.

The first year, the second year until the 7th year of our married life was full of challenges in various extent. We had even a time that we’d been separated for several months and later we were able to reconcile and started all over again. It was the greatest trial we ever had in our marital relationship.

At the 8th year of our marriage, everything had changed. We had found the secret of making our marriage stays as inspiring and loving all the time even as of this posting time. We had found the truth that marriage is ordained of God, that everyone of us has the spiritual responsibility for our children by letting them grow up according to the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

Clouds Form Jesus' Countenance Captured by CP's Camera

I am not a professional photographer. I love taking pictures of various subjects for fun or for the enhancement of my various blog sites. Lately I keep on taking pictures of our city's improvement on infrastructure, business progress in terms of newly created business ventures. But it is a common practice that I take pictures of my family activities for posterity purpose.

Anyway, late this afternoon something special had happened and I captured it with my cellphone camera. I couldn't believe that it has something for me, a special message for that matter I suppose. I need to commune with the Lord on how to interpret it for I don't have the spirit of discernment.

I remember 6 years ago I had written about the second coming of the Lord as predicted by a noted psychic. There is a related story below about this person for your reference.

Spiritual Figure

At six in the evening while I was sitting outside our home I happened to glance to a beautiful clouds' formation as the sun gradually sets. I got my cellphone to capture said sights. I was in a hurry not to miss that wonderful clouds formation.

How Christmas Would Lead to World Peace

It is very untiring and even deafening to always hearing this Biblical phrase "on earth peace, good will toward men..." (Luke 2:14, KJV) The people are always longing for peace since time immemorial. But peace is elusive but hope keeps on hoping to never fail. Christmas is there to remind us every December, every year. Even everyone would like to have Christmas everyday.

Gil Camporazo giving his message
JOYOUS CHRISTMAS SEASON

"When Christmas comes, there is always joy in our hearts. There is joy when we give something small for it has big impact to the receiver. There is joy in our emotion and on the way we feel after helping those in need." This a portion of my humble message during our Coronation of Mr. & Ms. Yuletide 2014 of our school, Balabag Elem. School.

PERFECT GIFT for CHRISTMAS

Christmas is a season of the year that simply reminding us the perfect gift which our Heavenly Father has given to all mankind, kindred, tongues and nations. That is through Jesus Christ, our Father in heaven unfeigned love is perfectly shown for everyone of us sinners. With Jesus we would be redeemed from our sins.

The Day My Family Visits The Temple

I remember it was sometime in the month of September 1986 when the whole member of my family visited the Manila Philippines Temple somewhere in Greenmeadows Subdivision, Quezon City.

I brought along with me my six children, Dondon, Dona, Gingging, An An, Gigi and Toto Jun, our youngest son. It was the first time that my family went to Manila especially in going to the Temple of the Lord to do some temple ordinances.

In my case, I had already gone there sometime in 1975 when I underwent a two-training at the Central Bank of the Philippines in the Savings and Loans Department of the said agency and I was temporarily residing at the residential house of the owner of the bank where I am about to work with. I had no idea that the present Temple would be built in that area.

I remember I had to take three rides in going to the Central Bank. While in the case of my family in going to the Temple, they had to take two rides from Baclaran to St. Corinthians Gardens (White Plains Avenue now).

Nine Basic Elements of Christmas

Most Christians do celebrate Christmas every year on the tradition handed to them from one generation to another. As this tradition grows in age, the ancient practice has influenced by the advent of modern technology and modern way of living. Its value becomes degenerated due commercialism.

Jesus Manger
Since I was a kid, then passed the stage of teenage, and in this senior age at the present, I do still value Christmas in its spiritual point of view. To remind me always and to avoid staying away from the very essence of this important event among the Christians, I have come up with an 9 basic elements of Christmas based on its acronym: CHRISTMAS

I hope these elements may appeal to anyone as to their humble understanding of the true meaning of Christmas and may serve as a constant guide to everyone as they celebrate Christmas every year.

Thank You Lord for Saving Us

Last Sunday past two in the afternoon, we overheard short bang of firecracker and saw a black smoke at the left rear window of the public vehicle utility which we rode in. Then the driver stopped the car.

Moises Padilla Branch
In the whole morning, we made a visit to the Moises Padilla Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in their annual branch conference. While other Churches are having their Palm Sunday.

We were 16 of us, leaders and auxiliary officers of La Carlota Philippines District to attend the said conference to strengthen the members there, to give instructions to the local leaders, and to edify everyone especially in their faith to the Church prophet, their faith to the Lord Jesus Christ and to inspire them on how nurture their testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of the Lord and the importance of the atonement of Jesus Christ as the entire country will be celebrating the lenten season.

School Evangelism | Children's Gospel Conversion

Does school evangelism could convert the elementary school children's faith to believe and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Redeemer?

A score and five American evangelists were here in Negros to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the various elementary schools and my school, Cubay Elementary School in the Division of La Carlota City was one of them.

This school ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ was part of Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association mission. This year's ministry started in Dumaguete City, July 1 and it will be completed in San Carlos City in August 8.

10 females and 15 male ministers were here in Negros.

The Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association has been serving in the Philippines since 1985 with five major priorities: Evangelism, Church Planting, Pastor Training, an Orphanage, and the Training of the Next Generation of Evangelists. It is the primary goal of BTEA to make the gospel of Jesus Christ available to every person in the world.

Do You Need To Sacrifice Your Traditional Belief?

Dallin H. Oaks, LDS
Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum
of the Twelve Apostle
In my case, I was converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I sacrificed my traditional faith of belief and I was willing to serve the Lord without pay just my time, effort and talent. I had a lot of things given up just to be baptized to the Mormon religion. And I did nurture my membership in this Church for 32 years.

These things I did were strengthened by the message of Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on sacrifice in the Saturday morning session of the 182nd Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah. It was rebroadcast in our respective meetinghouses here in the Philippines.

Don't Forget You're Invited To Come Unto Christ

Jesus carrying the cross

Every lenten season Christ is always the center of everyone's worship. It takes them a week to revere Him, to recollect His sacrifices from womb to tomb. We should understand not only spiritually but practically to take Christ upon ourselves for it's a life-and-afterlife duty and responsibility not only for a moment, for an hour, for a day, for a year but for time and eternity.

Therefore, let's heed His invitation to come unto Him. Let's repent and be baptized for His name's sake. Let's examine ourselves. And do the following plain and simple work:
