'Squatter Mentality' Tags Erstwhile PGMA of PH's Decadence

Filipinos with "squatter mentality" are responsible for the outright blame on the former PH President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, now Congresswoman for anything bad happened in the Philippines, according to Ilda's Get Real Post. She reasoned out that people with squatter mentalities do not believe in hard work or in contributing to the betterment of society. For her, "things are not always what they seem."

Following are ten Ilda's "most probable reasons" why Filipinos (with squatter mentality) keep on blaming CGMA:

1. Most Filipinos think that blaming the late former President, Ferdinand Marcos is so passé so they have moved on to GMA. A quarter of a century after Edsa, the Aquinos and their supporters cannot keep blaming the original “bad guy” because blaming Marcos after all these years will highlight the fact that there was nothing significant about the so-called “people power” revolution that happened in 1986 to begin with. It becomes funnier when you hear them say, “GMA is worse than Marcos” because they don’t realise that this is the same as saying, “We were better off during the Marcos years”.

Bonifacio, a hero?

Andres Bonifacio was acclaimed as one of the national heroes of the Philippines. November 30 is commemorated as Bonifacio Day in his honor.

Andres Bonifacio was admired and revered for his role in Philippine history. He started the Philippine Revolution. He was the first president of the "Tagalog Republic". He became the head of the Magdiwang as President of the Sovereign Nation (Pangulo ng Haring Bayan). He headed the Magdiwang government and the Katipunan Supreme Council. He advocated the principles of liberty, equality and fraternity in which republicanism is founded.

Does PH Justice Finding Her Way?

Could justice be served for Filipinos in which "they truly deserve", now former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is arrested for the alleged electoral fraud charges against her?

"It is our desire that truth and accountability prevail and that the Filipino people be given the justice they truly deserve," Justice Secretary Leila de Lima told reporters.

The news said that Arroyo's right to travel for a medical treatment of her bone ailment was upheld by the Higher Court. But later the lower court formally pursued the charges and issued a warrant of arrest that prevented her to leave the country.

The Making of a Modern-Day Pinoy Hero

[Updated] Yahoo! Philippines came up with the "Pitong Pinoy" project to select seven Filipinos as identified by fellow Filipinos, the Yahoo! community, and then culled by the Yahoo! Philippines jury.

This project aims to inspire with an initiative that will recognize seven modern-day Filipino heroes in line with the commemoration of Philippine Independence, last June 12, 2011.

The nomination mechanics for these modern-day heroes include a brief explanation (not more than 200 words) of his or her accomplishments and the reason why he or she is nominated. The nominations were emailed to to ypitongpinoy@yahoo.com.ph until June 9, 2011 8:00 in the morning.

Finding faults!

Why is it that it is easy to find faults with others?

I admit that even myself I keep on finding weaknesses with my friends, with my job associates, or even with my own family members. And I'm adamant to accept that I've inadequacies too. I would rather justify my incapacity to do things when I fail. But I know for that kind of attitude of finding others' faults our Lord God is not well pleased for this.

Why this is so?

I remember in one of our management meetings with my fellow educators a resource person raised a piece of a clean white sheet of paper with a small black dot at the center for everyone to see. Then he asked a question if what we had seen. Without hesitation, we unanimously answered that there was a black dot at the center of the said paper he lifted up. He chuckled and then raised his voice saying: "Why that is so?"
