Brigada Eskwela (Day 16)

In 2003, the Department of Education launched the National Schools Maintenance Week or what is more commonly known as Brigada Eskwela. Now on its 13th year, the theme this year is "Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos at Handa Mula Kindergarten hanggang Senior High School".

This will be held from May 30 to June 4, 2016 in all public schools all over the country. This is one week of the year, where we overwhelmingly see the Bayanihan spirit in action. Millions of Filipinos take part in this annual week-long effort to help prepare schools for the start of the school year. It is a demonstration of the community's support for education.

Brigada Eskwela Necessitates Public Sharing

Brigada Eskwela of the Department of Education (DepEd) is in its 10 years of joint efforts of the teachers, parents and the community of contributing their free time and available resources for the public school maintenance and need of the every pupil and student both in elementary and secondary.

"Happy, happy Brigada Eskwela," opens up Portia M. Mallorca, acting Schools Division Superintendent of La Carlota City, Department of Education in her message in a brief rites at Cubay Elementary School.

This kick off ceremony started after an-hour of caravan of all public schools both in elementary and high school around the main thoroughfares of the city. The division Brigada Eskwela task force led by acting SDS Portia M. Mallorca proceeded to Cubay Elem. School for a short program after the parade.

Education MANCOM: 'I Command Vision'

This is my statement I made in my opening remarks after I scrambled the phrase, "Division Mancom" while I was waiting for my turn to talk. "I command vision" prompted me to present it to my fellow school administrators. I referred it to the Lord's concern that He commanded us to look after His spirit children (the pupils) who are on our shoulders as  school heads or principals. We are the Lord's stewards for them. Therefore, He has given us to be visionary, to look ahead for the bright future of these children who are under our care and custody when they are inside our school. It is our utmost concern for their welfare and for their well-being as a good, law-abiding citizens of the community where they live in and be obedient to God's commandments.

Mallorca Appreciating BE documentation

Division Mancom is a monthly meeting of all Department of Education (DepEd) school administrators in the La Carlota Division. The 4th Division Mancom was held in our school, Cubay Elementary School, this morning. It was well attended by the school principals of 24 elementary schools, 4 high schools, and 3 district supervisors and division education program supervisors. Attending also were department heads of the secondary and division head.

La Carlota Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, officer-in-charged Portia M. Mallorca presided over the whole session of this meeting. Matters discussed were supervisory, administrative, and DepEd updates.

How Does Cubay Elem. School Become Spick and Span?

Cubay Elementary School, one of the 23 public elementary schools in the Division of La Carlota was ready for the opening of classes on June 4, 2012.

It is no magic that this school was transformed into a spick and span elementary school. There were sectoral groups of concerned stakeholders that did a great job in making this school prepared for the opening of classes as they did a 6-day maintenance of the school in a national school maintenance week or known as Brigada Eskwela which started on May 21 to 26, 2012.

The School Is Ready for Classes!

No more fanfare! No more moving of chairs and tables! No more activities that will hamper the holding of regular classes!

This should be the proper scenario in the opening of classes on June 4 in the elementary and even in the secondary schools in the PH.

Since June 4 is the opening of regular classes of all elementary schools, both the public and the private in the Philippines, two weeks before, every school should be ready and prepared for the classes.

Various concerned internal and external stakeholders like the parents, community residents, private individuals, and even a group of youth, religious, professional sectors allot their time, efforts, talents and even money and materials for the maintenance of the school.
