NIR IV Youth Summit 2016: The Making of a Hero Continues

Nation of Heroes 4, the DepEd NIR Youth Formation Summit sums up its 3-day gathering with the theme, "Batang Bayani: Bahagi Ako ng Pagbabago" at La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

More than 4,000 elementary and high school students participated in this summit in providing them knowledge, skills to enhance their management and leadership capability. The officers of the supreme pupil government for the elementary and the supreme student government for the secondary are trained to come up with feasible programs and projects (PAPS) in consonance with the present government thrusts.

The kids aside from their regular training are to present their individual or group talents on the following contests:  a. Elementary: NH4 Vocal Duet Contest; b. Secondary: NH4 Modern Dance Contest, Search for Mr. and Ms. NH4 Ambassador/Ambassadress; c. Elementary and Secondary Level: Project Proposal Writing and Presentation Competition, Talumpati, Photography Contest.

In the Search for Ms. NH4 Ambassadress, Jerelyn Poblete of DHSBNHS of the division of  La Carlota city was crowned MS NATION OF HEROES 4 AMBASSADRESS 2016, competing other 12 contestants. This has made possible through the efforts of her coach Johnny Jaudines, asst coach Stephen de la China and ramp and beauty consultant, "Dyoosaah" Sichon. And the title of Mr. Nation of Heroes 4 Ambassador went to the Bago Division contestant.


In the Division of La Carlota, elementary level,Daniel Mars Kudemus of La Carlota Elementary School 1 got the first place in the Talumpati contest.

While in the secondary level of the same Division, the students of Mam Ma Laarni Karen Calacat got the first place in Project Proposal Writing contest and RJ Montero of Dona Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School, won the first runner-up in Talumpati contest, topping the other 15 contestants in the region.

Moreover, the group of dancers of DHSBNHS got the championship in the Dance Competition, surpassing the other 15 contestants. Sir Leo Sichon, the school principal was so thankful for the honor which his students have given to the school and also the respective class advisers of the students.

The Negros Island Region was created by Executive Order No. 183 signed by President Aquino on May 29, 2015. It is composed of 17 towns in Negros Occidental, and 19 in Negros Oriental, and 13 cities in Negros Occidental and 6 in Negros Oriental. The schools division under the NIR is composed og 16 such as Bacolod City, Bago City, Bais City, Bayawan City, Cadiz City, Dumaguete City, Escalante City, Guihulngan City, Kabankalan City, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Sagay City, San Carlos City, Silay City, and Tanjay City.

  2. I LOVED program like this where talented kids can show what they got to the crowd. I bet it is nerve racking to the parents to watch at the same time proud of their kids.
