Bulaklak's Baptism in LDS Has Come!

I was all smile when our third granddaughter was baptized following the baptism of Toto Bryan Camporazo and Adgel Camporazo-Tolones several months ago when they reached their age of accountability, which is 8 years old.

It took us a bit of long wait until Bulaklak's baptism has come.  I was spiritually filled when I confirmed my granddaughter, Shanley Jane Camporazo-Jaud as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after she was baptized by her uncle, our youngest son and a returned missionary assigned to Butuan Philippines Mission sometime in 2010, two years ago.

As I confirmed her, former President of La Carlota Branch Joemar Montero and Kent Tiano assisted me as we laid our hands on her head in a circle. I told her that our Heavenly Father is very happy for this special day that she's baptized and now a member of the Church.

President Joel Vergara, the first counselor of La Carlota First branch welcomed the four newly baptized members of the Church. He expressed gratitude for the support the respective parents of the baptized members and he encouraged them not to fail in that stewardship as far as Church activity is concerned.

Moreover he appreciated the efforts of two female full-time missionaries, Sister McIver of Auckland, New Zealand and Sister Lagan of Puerto Princesa, Palawan who taught the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel to the two converts, Sister Rhea Samson and Sister Lenie Estrevencion.

As being prompted by the still small voice, I gave her a blessing by invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide her as she grows up that she may be a successful missionary someday by bringing more souls back to our Heavenly Father's fold, that she may be strong and firm, and be an example to others as she continually goes to Church with her family, regularly reading the scriptures, keeping the commandments, obeying her parents; and that she may be protected from any harm, affliction or sickness so that she may come up conqueror against any temptations, trials and challenges in any form that may come into her life.

Bulaklak, her fond name was already 8 years old and she was qualified to be baptized by Gilbor D. Camporazo, Jr., in a joint baptismal service with another child of record, Jelord Roma, and two converts, Rhea Samson, Lenie Estrvencion at the baptism font of La Carlota Meetinghouse this day.

The Mormons, the common or popular name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is baptizing any person, any nationality as long as they complete the needed lessons required for a baptism, and also any members' child of record who turns 8 years old. That's why my granddaughter Bulaklak was entitled for this one.

The baptism is done in a solemn and simple ceremony. A short program is held with speakers to speak in a basic Church doctrine, particularly baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. The candidate for baptism is immersed to the water by a priesthood holder after a brief baptism prayer. Then it is followed by a confirmation by another priesthood bearer or a male member of her/his family as long as it has the priesthood of God.

Before the short program closed, the newly baptized members voluntarily stand in front and bear their respective testimonies of the gospel, the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the truthfulness of the Church four standard works, and the authority of the Prophet Joseph Smith to restore the true Church of Jesus Christ here on earth.

With confidence, Bulaklak took her turn to bear her own testimony.

"Nalipay ako nga miembro na ako sang simbahan. Kabalo ako nga ang Book of Mormon matuod. Nagahatag sang matuod nga pulong sang Ginoo. Kabalo ako nga ang pagpangamuyo nagahatag sa aton kabaskog nga ang aton kinahanglan sa kabuhi ginapahatag ni Jesus Christ. Ginapamatuod ko ini sa ngalan ni Jesus Christ. Amen," she said. ("I'm happy that I'm now a member of this Church. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It contains the true words of God. I know that prayer gives us strength that we need in our life through Jesus Christ. I testify that these things are true. Amen." she said.)

Those presence at Bulaklak's baptism in LDS were her parents, Papa Tipoy and Mama An An, and her youngest sister, Panie; her grandparents, Rebing and me; her cousins, Toto Bryan and Adgel; and her uncles, Toto Jun and Almon.
