How Long Is PATIENCE?

Following are operational, functional definitions of patience culled from various sources for quote as inspiration and even as a guiding principle for everyone's way of living.

PATIENCE is learning how to wait when you really don’t wish to. It is discovering things you like to do while you’re waiting.

PATIENCE is taking time everyday to dream your dreams and develop the confidence in yourself to change your dreams into reality.

PATIENCE is being good to yourself and having the faith to hold on to your dreams even as days to go by when you can’t see how it will become true.

PATIENCE is loving others when they disappoint you and you don’t understand them.

PATIENCE is knowing how to let go and accept others as they are and forgive them for the things they have done.

These are the principles I learned upon reading Donna Lavine’s PATIENCE.

I also read the Bible on PATIENCE. And these are the principles I got:

PATIENCE is better than pride!

And not only so but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh PATIENCE; and PATIENCE, experience, and experience, hope.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to be PATIENT. And PATIENCE develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady.

God’s people must not be quarrelsome; they must be gentle, PATIENT teachers of those who are wrong.

Life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, for when the way is rough your PATIENCE has a chance to grow. So let it grow and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your PATIENCE is finally in bloom then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.

Learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become PATIENT and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you. This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply. The more you go on, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ.

So be it!
